Canadian Theatre Agreement 2019

CAEA and ACTRA have a mutual agreement that, once, if you were an ACTRA member working in the Equity jurisdiction, you would be obliged to join Equity and vice versa. WPI President Amy Jephta has partnered with the African Women Playwrights Network, the services of South African playwrights have been engaged as jurors and mentors, Canadian playwrights have been recruited as playwrights and mentors, and the Theatre Arts Admin Collective in Cape Town and Hillbrow Theatre in Johannesburg have provided workshops and writing. Beyond international cooperation, the CASA Award would not be possible without a permanent source of funding, as the fundraising efforts of the Women`s Caucus are not sufficient to support a project of this magnitude. Thanks to the charity of an anonymous Canadian sponsor, the CASA Award will be fully funded for five years, probably until 2022 (Cooper).
